My Personal Trainer Approach

Your journey to fitness is unique – and your personal training should be too. As a female personal trainer, I believe in taking a truly personalised approach that goes beyond generic workout plans aimed at women’s weight loss. I fell in love with training and the changes it made to my body and my life – I want you to feel the same (or at least some degree!) of that same enjoyment I found in the gym. Everything I do, show and tell you is to make you better, stronger and happier!

Getting to Know You

I start by getting to know you – not just your fitness goals, but you as a person. Our sessions are conversations, not monologues. By understanding your life, preferences, lifestyle and challenges, I can create training that actually works for your reality, from juggling shift work to caring for your kids. This holistic approach means we address the whole picture, not just the exercise part. This helps me understand your diet too – if you’re anything like me, stress tastes like chocolate!

Tried and Tested Methods

While Instagram might be filled with flashy, complicated movements, I focus on classic exercises that have stood the test of time. These traditional movements are the foundation of fitness for good reason – they work! No gimmicks, just effective exercise that deliver real results. You’ll learn all the “big” exercises like squats and deadlifts, the “fun” ones like hip thrusts and Bulgarian split squats, and even how to work your way towards your first pull up!

Truly Personal Training

Have you ever noticed some trainers running their clients through identical routines? That’s not what you’ll experience with me. Each session is planned specifically for you, your body and your goals. No two clients of mine ever follow the same programme because no two bodies are identical.

Education Through Exercise

I believe knowledge is power. During our sessions, you’ll learn the name of each exercise, which muscles you’re working, and why it benefits you. I’ll demonstrate proper form while explaining the movement, ensuring you understand not just what you’re doing, but why you’re doing it (and what you’ll get from doing it consistently!)

Supportive Encouragement

I’m more ‘training buddy’ than ‘drill sergeant’. You won’t find me shouting or intimidating you – instead, I’m your loudest cheerleader and biggest supporter. That said, I do expect commitment. I’ll be firm but fair, pushing you to your personal best without ever forcing you beyond what’s safe or reasonable. I will call you out if you fluff up, equally I’ll tell everyone in a 15 mile radius about your accomplishments! Sometimes you’ll hate me – mostly you’ll love me. Once we’ve struck that balance I know I’m on the right track!

Progressive Development

We’ll start with foundational movements and gradually progress to more complex exercises – and heavier weights! – as your strength and confidence grow. This step-by-step approach ensures you build a solid foundation whilst continually challenging you to improve. We’ll use a wide variety of equipment in the gym from dumbbells and barbells to slam balls, cable machines, kettlebells and more.

Complete Coaching

Beyond just counting reps, I’ll teach you about proper form, equipment selection, gym etiquette, proper setup and usage of machines, exercise variations and much more. Over time, you’ll gain independence and confidence in your fitness journey. Everything I do is about confidence – in the gym, your body and yourself! We’ll also talk about your diet and nutrition – what’s good, what can be improved and how to get the most out of your exercise by getting your diet right.

This real-world knowledge goes beyond textbook theory to practical application that gets results. I will tell you everything you need to know to succeed – once you have the tools, it’s up to you to use them but I will be sure to keep you accountable!
